amongst the coal – a diamond

Image result for piles of memorabiliaI have been trying to organize and let go.  The 30 containers of memorabilia is down to 23.  This, of course, does not include actual photo albums of which there are at least 40.  Carefully saving each and every card and note we gave to each other from the nearly 49 years of togetherness – well, let’s just say it is a roller coaster of a ride.  I smile.  I remember.  I cry.

Birthday cards and anniversary cards and for no reason cards and May the Three cards.  I have them all.  They bring back the feelings of a young and unmarried love, to newlyweds and new babies to adventures, tragedies, sorrow and weathering it all together.  We made it through everything – together.

Well, almost everything.

And then I come across a little gem of your writing.  It had to be written in the 1980’s as it was printed with a (wait for it) dot matrix printer!  Expertly written in your smart-assed dry humor approach to most of life; it brought a smile to my heart.  It is too good to keep to myself.

You’re welcome.
