my observation on grief

What I have discovered in the past three weeks, is that grief has many voices.

My friend Susan, has faced the loss of her husband by taking Dan’s humor and making it her own.  Her posts and comments and emails have the sorrow, but are always countered with a quiet humor.  She is amazing.

                                                                                                                                          Friends Shannon and Mary, make very few comments or posts about their loss of husbands.  But when they do, it is with quiet grace.  These two ladies are a wonder.

Me…I handle my feelings of loss with all the hushed silence of a carnival barker.  I think those who know me well expect nothing less.  It’s me.
