According to My Mom, My Uncle Bob wanted to pet one of these at the Zoo in Scottsbluff. (Mom and I went there many years ago) anyway.. he jumped the fence, and did not realize as he reached for the cub that Momma was closing in on him at an amazing pace and a fearsome roar. I guess he made it back over the fence just as the bear was set to get him. (he never was too bright)
