Saturday night was a dinner date night, only with grandkids! Marluce and Mateo accompanied us to dinner in Reston at Uncle Julio’s Rio Grande Cafe. The carne asada is to die for and the kids enjoyed watching the man make fresh flour tortillas in the funny machine. The temperatures were so cold that we had to cover the kids faces while running for the car! We waited in the little foyer of the restaurant while Grandpa brought the car around close to the door of the cafe. Every time someone came in or went out, both of them would yell “We’re trapped! We’re trapped!!” All of the patrons thought they were quite entertaining!
Today, we took off for a breakfast at iHop (a really nice iHop, by the way) and then ventured to Washington DC to partake of the Holiday Magic event at the US Botanical Gardens. Lots of decorated trees and trains galore made the indoor gardens feel like a Santa Wonderland. We spent a couple of hours there and we all loved the adventure.
