Holiday visit to Georgetown & DC

Yesterday, we took off about 3:30 for a quick trip into Georgetown – my first favorite place JUST a touch ahead of Leesburg!  It has so much history and amazing architecture and quirky little businesses.  Georgetown definitely has her own atmosphere and personality!  Who couldn’t love Georgetown?
We enjoyed an impromptu dinner at Match Book in Georgetown, which has – hands down – the best gourmet authentic pizza we have ever had. You have to give it a try.  Even the building is scrumptious as it was a 90 year old vending machine warehouse, and encompasses some of the history with the wood slats in the upstairs area of the bistro.  I would much rather be entertained at a place with some abstract history than just another pretty restaurant with fancy schmancy decor.  Not that it’s a bad thing!
Our holiday date night ended with a drive past the awe inspiring Capitol Building.  Look how stately she appears.   Magnificent!
