Winchester to Salem, Virginia

Nothing but beautiful lush green farm land in between.  And, as odd as this may sound – the best rest stop EVER on I-81.  Sure, it has the typical restroom area (exceptionally clean and natural materials like rock, etc).  In back, there are several little paths to cool shaded picnic areas complete with a little stream, wooden bridge, and sounds of nature blocking out the highway noise from just yards away.  I swear, it is though I was up on the Grand Mesa.  Absolutely gorgeous.  Our camera was so buried in the car, there was no way to retrieve it without unpacking for 30 minutes, so you will just have to take my word.  A little accounting, a little dinner, hot shower and we are down for the count!
