Later in the afternoon, Ramon, (Berta’s son who lives in Puerto Peñasco) stops by with fresh shrimp from the local fish market. Katia joins him outside as they clean the shrimp, and cook up a delicious appetizer for whoever wants to indulge. Other family members come and go during the day and into the evening. Everyone is very cordial and happy and patronize me with lovely smiles as I repeat to each new guest “no habla Espanol”
